Objectives 

We will be able to...

1. Understand the differences between and uses of advanced punctuation marks (comma, colon, dash, semi-colon)
2. Understand the differences between and uses of the different coordinating conjunctions discussed in the ppt
3. Know when and where to use each of the aforementioned advanced punctuation marks and coordinating conjunctions both in practice and in their own writing
4. Use advanced punctuation marks to facilitate the cohesion of their academic writing.

Coherence Review
Review of the concepts of ‘coherence’ how they are not only trademarks of good writing,

but also necessary components of any academic essay.

Basic Combining Sentences PPT
This PPT is for diagnosis of your sentence combining appropriateness.

Advanced Punctuation PPT

We will talke about what they are used for, when to use them, how to use them and why.
