We will be able to......
- Decide the solutions we are going to critique.
- Search for GRP sources, related to the solutions.
- Getting familiar with the Pre-research Portfolio assignment.
Scale from 0 to 3 for each step

specific supporting information. All requirements of that step are addressed
sufficiently.

information; alternately, information may be somewhat off-topic. Some
requirements of that step are missing or addressed insufficiently.
1 point: Response makes a
minimal attempt to explain how that step applies to the student's IRP. Lacks
supporting details. Information may be seriously off-topic. Most requirements
of that step are missing or addressed insufficiently.
0 points: Response is absent
or plagiarized.
Pre-research Portfolio
(5% of your final grade)
You will be asked to choose a topic for your Individual Research Paper (IRP) and document your pre-research and planning stages of the research process. Class activities using the Guided Research Paper (GRP) topic will serve as models for your individual work, helping you to progress on your IRP.
Your Pre-Research will be submitted in a “portfolio,” or collection, of 9 small elements into one document. All elements of the portfolio will contribute to your progress in understanding and preparing for your research paper, and should prove to the instructor that you are ready to move forward in beginning the research for your IRP topic. There is no page limit for this assignment. You will use the template provided (below).
